I have to disagree. The bumper that you actually see, is not the true bumper. The real bumper is behind the chrome thing that we call a bumper. It can either be an aluminum or composite channel bolted to the frame horns.

As long as your lights and signals work you are leagal to drive the truck. Unfortunatly the PO might not agree because they are uninformed.

I bought an AllDataDIY.com subscription when I did the whole front end on my truck. Pretty good pictures and shows all the fasteners. For 30 bucks, I thought it was well worth it. It only costs 16 bucks to renew the subscription.

If you have decent machanical skills it may not be worth it to you, just plan on taking lots of pics as you take it apart.

Looking forward to the coated bumper pics when you are done.
