I have a2016 Tundra with the extended crank as addressed in T-SB-0166-19. It only happens when it is cold outside and only happens once first thing in the morning. No check engine light. The dealer tells me they cannot diagnois this without a check engine light. I will soon be out of warranty on this. What should I do to get this repair covered?

There's a copy of the actual tsb.
I had the issue, no cel ever. I took alcohol readings. They had to reset it once or twice before they would do the tsb/ swap the fuel pump. Took screenshots showing 50-80% ethanol readings, before the reset, then after, it was a slow climb. Every time I fueled up it climbed. That was enough to get the dealership I have a good relationship to perform the tsb.
Cel won't come on until it's really bad. Since it's based on the truck thinking it's running E85, the alcohol percentage readings with proof is typically enough.

A cheap Amazon OBD2 reader will work…I use the this one and it works great for the home mechanic…

Went to the dealer for an oil change day before yesterday. I complained about the extended cr-
ank, so they kept it overnight as it only does it once on first start up and only in cold weather. They kept it outside and said they could not duplicate. They checked the computer and upgraded the ECM.
As far as "could not duplicate" goes that is BS. It does it every time without fail as long as it is cold enough and it was cold enough that night. The upgrade to the ECM is another matter. We will see if they have fixed it. Truck has 55k miles on it so it has another year to go on the warranty. To the dealers credit they did not charge me anything to troubleshoot, which they said they would do if they could not duplicate.
I will post update to let you know if problem is solved.
