Hello,

I am from a small market town in England called Rugby.

I own a 2003, 2WD, 4.7l Access Cab SR5, which was flown over here from Florida about 8 months after first being bought by somebody from the USAF. It was registered in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, which means it was probably owned by somebody stationed at the One of the RAF bases on the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border.

After being sold to an Englishman, the truck did the rounds, generally being unloved, mainly because as we only have the Hilux over here, nobody's ever heard of Tundra. The truck finally ended up being exported to Spain, where the Authorities refused to re-register it, so it languished in an underground car park for around two years. The guy who drove it to Spain ran out of money eventually and drove it back to the UK at which time he sold it back to the specialist US car dealers from which he'd originally purchased it.

The dealers advertised it for sale whilst using it as a daily driver for about a month, at which time I swapped my crappy EU spec Ford Ranger for it and have now owned it for almost 4 years and I still love it!

It's done approx 97k miles now, which is small beer compared to to others of the same age but I know it will probably last until I get close to retirement age if not past that, so I'm happy to keep it for as long as I can.

It's no more thirsty that any of the Diesel engines pick-ups sold in the UK, is much, much larger and is better than the equivalent Hilux, which are now generally unreliable and only last for about 10 years.

I am a very happy man!

I had mine in my sig shipped from Guam to Longbeach so it was waiting for me when I landed, it required being dropped off at the port 45 days ahead of time. No shipping by plane as far as I know.
