I have a 2002 with the 4.7 V8, 208,000 miles, and the engine recently started making a whining noise that goes up and down with RPM. It is louder when the engine is cold. The Tbelt is not due to be changed for another 30K miles. Everything is still working fine, its just a noise, but Im worried about what it could be, and since Im broke right now I cant afford any repairs :(((

Any ideas????

Just had the same problem with my 2017 Tundra 5.7 with 81000 miles. Replaced the tensioner and Serp belt for good measure. Wasn't the problem. Checked water pump, power steering unit and altenator. Although still charging just fine, turned out to be the altenator. Replaced it and noise is gone.
