I have a 2002 with the 4.7 V8, 208,000 miles, and the engine recently started making a whining noise that goes up and down with RPM. It is louder when the engine is cold. The Tbelt is not due to be changed for another 30K miles. Everything is still working fine, its just a noise, but Im worried about what it could be, and since Im broke right now I cant afford any repairs :(((

Any ideas????

Might be the bearings going in tensioner or pulley turning the belt.

Mine was the tensioner. Replaced the belt at the same time. Alternator is always a culprit
