The 2UZ-FE(4.7 liter) has proven itself to be fairly bulletproof. There are many instances of these engines going 300,000+ miles. How is the 5.7 Liter engine stacking up in terms of durability and reliability?

I have been looking for a 1st ten double cab because of the drivetrain but have been offered a great deal on an 08 with 88,000 miles on it

Big advantage of the 5.7 is no timing belt replacement, power, and efficiency. It also came with a 6 speed tranny, little things add up. The 5.7 should easily last as long.
