I painted my factory grille and
Factory black mirror caps with 1d6 paint from automotivetouchup.com.

Primered 2x, wet sanded with 800 grit

Ready for paint

3x basecoat w/ 10 min flash between coats

after 2 coats of clear.

sanded with 150 grit

1 coat of adhesion promoter then 3 coats of primer

wet sand w/ 800 grit

basecoat

clearcoated

What prep work did you do to the chrome before primer?

I used a sander with 100
Grit until it wasn't shiny anymore and laid down 2 coats of glasurit etching primer. After 30 minute flash, I laid down 3 coats of primer, blocked sanded with 320 then laid down final 3 coats of
Primer. I suggest using catalyzed primer.

Yes, color is silver sky metallic. Clear coat I used was a 2k clear with hardener in a can. Best to use a clear coat with hardener.
