I looked at an old thread that asked the same question, but not very many useful answers. I have a 2011 5.7L crew max rock warrior. This is the first mod. i am making. Looking for a meaner/throatier sound. Any suggestions on either the 6 or 8??

Thanks

Definately give Keith a call , but from your description of meaner and throatier is both 6 and 8".

From my reading Keith's website and TT, and watching and hearing youtube vids, I believe to interpret the 6 " being meaner and louder sounding. Whereas the 8" is more throaty rumble and slightly low key until you stump on the throttle.

Granted I don't have BAmuffler system yet and I plan to call Keith as soon as some funds free up, but it would appear I would be going for the 6" stainless for my Tundra.

I have a 6" system. It rumble when started but quiets to almost stock at idle. Cruising around town it has a slight rumble and it wakes up with any gas. The only time I'd consider it loud is at wot. I drive around with my wife, who LOVES to bitch about anything and everything, and my 2 young daughters, and not one single complaint.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I have spoke to Keith, he is very detailed and you can tell takes great pride in his work/products. I listened to some Youtube clips. The 6 sounds a little pingy when the throttle is applied. Anyone agree with that. The 8 seems a little deeper and throatier. Just my observation and again thats from a youtube clip, not in person.

I just ordered a 6 today, but not sure if i want to change to the 8. or have a 7 made........

FYI.. i dont drive my truck everyday. Mostly weekends, only because the current job i have now gives me a company vehicle. My 2011 tundra has only 23k on it!! But all that could change tomorrow and i could have to drive my truck everyday. Reason i mention this is some folks said if your just a weekend driver get the 6 and go play, but the everyday truck drivers like the 8.

I'd have him make you a 7 inch, that is what I have.
Perfect setup of being a little too loud, JUST A LITTLE.
Wife has never complained about it, and she is prone to do that.
Although I have 72 SQ feet of Dynamax and 30 SQ feet of Dynaliner in my DC cab..

I felt the 8 would be too quiet and the 6 would be too loud and raspy.
The 7 is perfect.
I hear it at start-up and idle and when I romp on it.
I can go under a bridge or overpass and barely touch the pedal to get a nice attention getting rumble echo, my favorite part..
If I need it quiet, I can pu$$y foot the gas pedal and do that.
I'm finding that it is louder outside than inside.
If I drive behind Walmart with a wall on my right side and the windows down, it is loud but not raspy...
I've also found it sounds better after having it on for a couple months than when new.

I have no regrets on getting a 7 inch system...

Spoke with Keith, Keith recommended 7", but I wanted a little louder so I went with 6".

This is the special/discount I've been waiting for!

Thank you DD!
