I've owned several generations of 4 runners, and I'm finally going to make the move to the Tundra. Been kicking tires for a while now, but it's getting a lot closer to happening.

So I came across costcoauto.com and I searched this site for some member experience and didn't come up with anything. Has anyone used this program? I'm wondering if it's actually legit low prices or if it's the same "no haggle low prices" BS" that some dealerships use.

I used it when I purchased my new 2013 crewmax RW a couple months ago. They set you up with a specialist at a few of your local dealers. The price was fair but I ended just negotiating my price by playing dealer vs dealer and saved an extra $3000 off the costco price. You basically get the invoice price from costco.

Can't speak to Costco, but we are members at BJs. While shopping for my 2012 CM last summer, I received a quote through their buying service. I also received quotes through the National Education Association's buying service (I'm a teacher and NEA member). I suspected that a couple of the same dealers would be contacted by both buying services so I used different e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and names (used my wife's info for the BJs quote). The same salesman, at the same dealership provided a quote on the exact same truck through both services. I suspect most dealers designate one person to handle these buying services. Through the BJs service, his quote was almost $1,500 higher. That could have been because my wife was listed, but still.

Interesting. My wife and I are both teachers. We have a state association discount program, but I wasn't aware of the NEA program. I'll look into that now. Through our state program (MERSC), I just got a quote of $43,107 + tax for a CM Limited. I think that is maybe still a bit high. We are heading to another dealership to find out the Costco pricing tomorrow morning. I figured it would be a decent starting point anyway. Off to look up the NEA Program.
