I'm looking at the Bully adjustable side step for my 2008 Tundra. It wants me to screw 1" sheet metal screws into the back side of the rocker panel and put a bolt through the pinch weld. Is there anything inside the rocker panel I might hit if I drill into it? Some brands of trucks run things like a/c lines or electrical wiring down inside there. Just trying to be safe before taking a drill to my baby.

Pic of the step:

Right now, it's a matter of utility and cost. With a son in college ($), and a wife who sometimes works a little too hard to climb in the truck, I just need a quick something for her to get the leverage she needs.

I can't honestly answer your question, but I wouldn't do those personally.
If money is the issue, you could probably find some nice used steps on Craigslist for a reasonable price.
I just don't like the sound of the 1" screws.
Just my 2 cents.

Turns out they don't work. The mounting surface on the bracket is dead flat. The rocker panel has a bend in it, so that it won't mount exactly flush. I'm on the look out for something better.
