Im thinking about same tires...But I was told they dont have the extreme snowflake on them like the 275/65/18's do...a different rubber on the 70's.
Does anyone know if this is true ?

They don't.

I have run NOTHING but BFG ATs on my pickups and was pissed that this size didn't have it when the dealer stated they did before I bought them.

Here's a different angle and close up crop of the original, both in standard color ;)

Truck is a 2012 Magnetic Gray with 15,000 miles (I put about 30,000 miles a year on my rigs). It's ran great thus far. No rubbing issues on this size either.

Yes, this size doesn't have the snowflake symbol, but I've driven in a lot of snow with them and I can't tell any difference between these and my last BFG's on my Tacoma that had the snowflake. Of course they are brand new... We'll see how they do as they wear. If you've got 4WD and you're stuck in snow, a snowflake rated tire isn't going to make the difference between staying stuck or getting un-stuck.

I've got a set of these on my truck as well (same size on the same rims). I honestly love them. I suppose we could put on some nicer wheels and such, but I love that when they salt the roads I don't have to worry about my wheels. It sounds kind of weird, but I really like the center caps of these wheels and the tire size seems like its just perfect for the truck.

Aaronk,

Your truck looks almost identical to mine and I'm looking to put on the same size tires as you have. Just wanted to make sure, was your truck a TRD? I didnt see the decal, but noticed you had de-badged some of the other stuff and didn't know if you took it off as well. With the styled steel wheels, I was figuring it was an SR5 4x4 like mine, that came stock with Michelin 255/70/18 tires.

Nope, no TRD or SR5, just a Tundra Grade with the 4.6 V8, nothing was debadged, I just didn't get any nifty badges to start with! :p

i bought a used set of these for my '11 off craigslist for $90, had half the tread left on them. 275's on my steelies, they look pretty nice with the tread wrapping around the outsides. I Hasn't snowed yet here in MN, so can't say how they handle yet. It was either these or $1200 for a set of new Michelin LTX AS2's. see the sig for why I chose what I ded.

I gotta say the steelies painted/PD'd/PC'c black look really good. I think I like them betted than my PC'd black 18" aluminum wheels.
