So just got done at Best Buy to upgrade the factory system. My goal is to get something that sounds good; I don't need to shake the neighborhood or to have the best possible.

Here is the list I came out with:
Front door, JBL GX963 (6x9)

Rear Door, JBL GX602 (6 1/2")

Sub, Kick Comp C 10" pre-built into shallow box (fits behind rear seats)

Amp (for the sub only), Kicker CXA6001

I'm not sure that the front door can physically handle a 6x9? Anyone have any insight here. It looks like I need to purchase an adapter for them so maybe that makes them work? Any insight on any of the above would be much appreciated. Thx.

I fitted the krx3's in my doors which are basically 6 3/4" subs. What I did was put washers and longer bolts on the bottom of the window tract. Not hard to do and window clears the magnet now. I also made the speaker adapters and sanded down the inside of the door panel in front of the speaker to make sure it doesn't touch on excursion.

If you do that I'd get a 5 channel amp and add your sub later.
Because you will eventually add a sub.

You might even end up replacing the head unit..;)
