For those who followed my last thread, I ended up getting an unbeatable deal on a brand new TRD exhaust setup for my truck.

In my research, which included reading some installation guides from a few companies, I found that some aftermarket exhaust manufacturers actually state that you should unplug the battery for a few minutes, in order to "reset" the factory computer.

But is there really any need to do this? Doesn't the computer constantly learn as you go??

Just curious about what all you gurus think...

I usually unplug the neg side of battery during any install I do weather it's electrical or not. Just in that case I might hit something electrical. It's a safe guard but if you do it during the install you would be all set for that theory.
