Hello, first post but I have been searching stuff and learning stuff here for a while. I have a 2007 CM SR5 with 126k on it. For the last few months I have been hearing this noise when cold that goes away when its warmed up. Decided on it being the driver side timing chain tensioner. Have a few questions I couldnt find the answer to searching here or google in general. If anyone has had this replaced what did it run you to have it done? I have seen this asked here before but never answered. Just want to get a baseline. Also are their any good instructionals out there for getting to the timing chain and/or replacing the tensioner? Video preferably. I'm fairly mechanically inclined and wouldnt be opposed to doing it myself if it saves me a bunch. Also is this a timebomb or something that will just make noise and be annoying? It hasnt gotten any worse over all. Seems to change with the ambient air temp but that's it. Thanks in advance.
