The Alpine stuff needs a sequence of brake and e brake to go active that piece does what it needs to see. One other way to do it is hook up the brake wire and then use a toggle switch e brake to one side other side to ground. To give it what it needs step on brake toggle the switch leave it in the closed position and wala it works.
