Greetings from the newb. Heartbrkenfrom my 14 tundra trd. Bent conrod. And it warranty won't cover it because they say it's due to outside interference. Water in the cilinder creating a hydrolock. I know it's rained a lot, but I hardly think puddles could do this kind of thing. I asked about a cooling psi test and still waiting. Any idea what could cause this?

Sure. Driving in water deep enough to get into the air intake.

I cant ever see a situation where water in your engine would be covered under warranty.

how big of a puddle?
my truck doesnt have the inner fender liners and the air box is broken, so there's a big ass hole where the normal hole should be.
we were romping through all kinds of water a few weekends ago, i stopped and stuck my hand in the air box. it was DRY.

Kinda depends on a lot of factors.

Puddles, or mudding?

Driving fast through a 12" deep puddle under throttle, or a 2" puddle and creeping through.


If the air filter and charcoal filter are wet, then definitely too much water.
