If I buy some aftermarket TPMS sensors what is involved in getting the setup. Does the dealer have to do it?

The dealership will have to recalibrate the new sensors. I was told that they can read the serial # without having to break apart the wheels/tires but that's not the case, so if you can write down the serial numbers of the aftermarket TPMS sensors and give it to the dealership to recalibrate. My dealer will do it for free but another dealership wanted $60.

If you're going to swapping rims, winter-summer, you can buy an ATEQ TPMS Quickset tool and change sensor codes yourself. I have one of the tools and it works great.

Also if possible, snap a picture of the serial numbers with your camera phone in case you can't read your own writing
