had this problem repeatedly with an 07 tacoma, have they not fixed this for the 14 tundra? I turn my ac on and I can hear a ticking noise, just started this morning. It is not the cabin filter. On the tacoma they kept changing the blower and it would sound good for about a year or so. I only have 10k miles on the tundra. Anybody else dealing with this?

I've probably owned ten Toyota's and I think they've all had this unfortunately. I think I'm just used to it.

The 2009 Tundra I had did it, I won't be surprised if my 2014 does it as well. Considering they haven't changed much of anything in the car just improved. I figure AC is the last thing they will address, if ever.

Are you talking about the blower making a light ticking noise on slow speed? I heard that on my old 07 Taco work truck.

Nothing on the 2012 Tundra though.

BTW, if it is the noise I described above than it has nothing to do with the A/C...its just the HVAC fan.

I had a 07 Tacoma DC that did that and it would absolutely drive me crazy. 3 trips to the service dept. and all they said was they cleaned any debris/leafs out and gave the truck back to me. The 3rd trip, the maintenance manager told me I was being petty but would order a new blower motor, so before any PTSD set in while clinching the steering wheel with white knuckles while he was in the passenger seat telling me this, I immediately drove to the Nissan lot after he got out and traded it in on a Titan. Had I not met an actual Toyota certidied mechanic later down the road that is the only one to do maintenance on my truck for 1/3 - 1/2 of the price depending on what it is, I would still be driving a different brand truck!

Had the same problem on my 09 Tacoma only when it was cold out at low or medium fan settings. Haven't heard it yet on my Tundra.

The ticking is coming from the blower motor and it is a pretty easy fix. Don't remember the specifics, but your pull a couple of screws, tighten the motor shaft add some fresh lube and re-install it. You could probably find a DIY thread pretty easily and fix it yourself. Toyota replacements will probably do the same thing.

you can't hear it on high because the ac drowns out the noise, but it is very noticable at medium and low speeds. Same as my 07 Tacoma. I had my blower motor replaced 4 times under warranty and they never gave me a hard time about it. Just annoys me. I cannot stand interior rattles or ticking in the ac. The tacoma fix you had to calibrate the screws, its a total pain the ass.
