I was wondering what is the difference in the 6112 and the 5100 from bilstein. Is the 6112 a heavier duty shock? Also I know this may be a stupid question, but hey I'm new here, cut me some slack
Yes the 6112 is a huge improvement over the 5100. It has a 2.5" body and a 7/8" shock shaft. They ride much smoother than the 5100. There are a couple huge threads on the 6112's that have a lot of the technical info. I saw a cutaway view of them somewhere also. Do a search and you will find it.
The 6112 are MUCH bigger and beefier than the 5100 - Much better ride. I changed out the shocks on my new 2016 Tundra at 70 Miles to get a much much better ride.
This is all great information, but I still have a question, I bought my Tundra with a 4" lift kit on it (I don't know the brand), if I were to buy the 6112's would it interfere with the lift? I don't know hardly anything about the suspensions in vehicles
