305/45/22 General grabber is a great street performance tire.

I have had them on my truck for a few weeks now and I like them. Today was the day I drove them in the rain and I was impressed with the traction. With traction control on, 70-80% throttle from a low roll on, no spin and set me back in the seat. I was totally surprised and liked it. :D My old tires would break loose with a touch of the throttle in the rain. Now I am sure if I punched it from a dead stop I would spin them, but it seems 70-80% throttle is the happy medium between smoking them and traction. Definitely happy with General's performance and ride quality so far.

BTW that's the same technique I used at the track the other week and pulled my best 2.05 60ft with them. It's hard not to just punch it, but a little throttle modulation seems to be the key to launching on street tires.

thx to your post, I looked at the General Grabber 295-50-20.. It is in a severe nationwide back order..
This TG guy had a somewhat similar post but ended up getting "HANKOOK VENTUS ST RH06". I want to replace my current Daily Driver VR rated Yoko Parada X with something more sticky, I just got to see which is more better, General Vs Hankook..
btw, did you have a problem with balancing your Generals?
Here was that TG link..

Any updates on the Grabbers after installing the blower and a few hundred miles? I'm highly considering these. Thanks

Hmm interesting, I love my wild peaks. Only have a few thousand on them and love them. I'm going to the nitto duragrapplers next. Better suited for my needs and I hear they are awesome on wet pavement

Alot of general tires are hard to find. Unless you have bastard sizes like me and OP you will run into a lot of walls looking for them

It's been pretty warm here, 80-90 degrees, but they seem to be holding up well to the power from a low roll on(30mph). I did try to launch on them once but they spun and that undercover TC kicked in. I haven't tried with all the nannies off. For a true truck street tire I'd say they are the best I have had, but they just won't hook like a drag radial from a dig on the street. At a well prepped track might be a different story. A little VHT can do wonders.

I have a set of stock wheels and my 305/45/18 Nittos sitting in the garage. I am going to get them mounted up here eventually and see if the truck will shift right with the SC reflash. If so I might get another set of those MB Torques and rock my big and little setup for superior dry traction and added comfort over the 22's.

My exhaust and radio are usually too loud to notice any tire noise. I'm sure if they made noise like some mud grapplers I might hear them.

My tire guy didn't mention any issues balancing them.

I did some 20mph roll ons last night and they hooked up pretty decent. I even did a couple dig runs, but I had to modulate the throttle a little and once it grabbed 2nd they hooked.
Two low 11 sec Mustangs in front.
Me matching speed with JB4 335I and C5Vette, until I let off.

Now I will call Hulzazz by his first name. Hi Nick. :D
Ha! That's not what those riding right next to the pipes sticking out the side said. lol Everyone thought I was spraying because you can't even hear the blower.

Nick is my friend in the silver mustang. It's an auto 4.6 FBO and a big shot of the good stuff. He busted some serious ass last night, except for the juiced new 5.0.

Longtubes are on my wish list, but it's going to be rediculously loud. The truck runs good but you can never have enough power. :)

We went to a little cruise in tonight and I hit it on the way out from about a 15 MPH roll. The truck dead hooked, my wife's cell phone went flying and about broke her kneck. She wasn't ready for it. It was pretty funny to see her reaction.

So the over revs on the shifts are no longer there? It was just when you had the 4' CAI?

No issues yet. Could be the SC flash fixed it or it was the 4". I'm going to mount my drag radials on the stock wheels when I get back from vacation next month. If it shifts normal I will be extremely happy.

Still good for a street tire. 1st gear is iffy from a stop but low roll ons they hook. For a daily driver I would highly recommend, especially for their wet road traction and mild off-road capability.

I'm going to try and mount my 18" drag radials back up next week. Hoping they work this time so I can really let it rip off the line.

What size did you get?
