215/75/15 on a 15 x 5 wheel fit??

I have 215/75/15 on 15 x 6 steel wheel on my 5 x 10 trailer and just bought a spare wheel. Problem is that it's a 15 x 5 wheel that the previous guy has trailer tires ST205/75/15 on.

I want to put a 215/75/15 tire on this wheel but the tire specs says to use a 5.5-7" width wheel.

Can I still fit a 215/75/15 on this wheel? Inside the wheel is stamped 5j x 15.

wow.. little confusing.. this isn't a matter of 205 and 215 the 2 tires will fit the wheel. its the wheel pattern that is the problem.. 15X6 means 15 inch wheel with 6 lug holes.. you can't mount that wheel onto a 5 lug...

you have to be sure of what you have exactly.. it could be a 5X 5.5.. trailer sizes get confusing.. refer here to answer your questions..

I think your a little confuse 15 x 5 wheel is a 15" diameter wheel with a width of 5". If your thinking a 15 x 6 wheel means it has 6 lug holes, then that mean my 20 x 9 wheel has 9 bolt holes = Not.

The question is since the tire states to use a 5.5" - 7" wide wheel, well it still fit a 5" width wheel? We're only talking 1/2".

If that's a no no then I'll need to sell the wheel and pick up a 15 x 6 wheel with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern as that's what is on the trailer now.

But thanks for trying to help.

Haha, better online than behind the wheel.
Suppose a little more numbers and letters would have made a difference in understanding. :D
