Hello everybody I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 2025 Toyota Tundra SR5. I build a lot of fences and decks and constantly have weight in the back of my bed. It only allows like 1,940 lbs of weight in the bed. I'd like to up that to 3,000 if not 4,000 lbs if possible. Any ideas?

So I got the Firestone airbag assist which can hold up to 5,000 pounds but I don't dare go over 2,000 lb which Toyota recommends. Actually it's 1940 lb. But the airbag assist is fantastic! My bed doesn't sag anymore and it automatically has a compressor which keeps it level at all times. Well worth the 2000 dollars

You cannot put 3-4000 lbs in your truck and drive it like normal. I mean, can you go a little over 1940? Yes. But only by a couple hundred pounds. If you haul in the 3-4000 lb range and drive it like normal, you will break it or kill someone. The only way you can haul that kind of weight in a Tundra is to drive extremely slow (like under 20 mph), be very careful going over bumps (in other words, don't bottom out the suspension), stay off all main roads, only go short distances, and before you head out, make sure you count the cost of the big tow bill, the repair bill, and the fine for being over your licensed weight rating.

Yeah I figured that out after the first week of buying the tundra. I did however by Firestone airbag assist. Which is fantastic! It has a 5,000 lb rating for the airbags but I still only put about 2000 lbs in the truck. The airbags are great because now the truck doesn't sag anymore and it has a built-in air compressor so it keeps it at a perfect level at all times. Thanks for the info.
