We have come across folks running the stock wheels with 275/65R20(34.07). Although as you found there may be some information discrepancies, a few reasons for this is due to the variables even within the save vehicle platform causing a tire to fit 1 vehicle but not another. Also perception of rub as well, what one may consider minimal rubbing may be a bit more serious to someone else. Lastly, variables in tire manufacturing that causes a tire to run a bit big in one brand and a bit small in another.

One thing you can do is physically measure the current tire and room you have to the nearest part you would rub. Then turn the wheel and measure at the closest point to determine how much bigger you can do.
