Getting ready to do an oil change on my 2012 5.7L with 5000 miles and found an oil leak at the square aluminum box with ridges that is adjacent to the oil filter housing. I am not sure what this square box is or what it does. I have attached pictures for reference. I am down about 1/2 way on the dipstick between the dots. Some oil found on the inside of the skid plate. The square box has Toyota 0S01 2725 on the front surface. Anyone seen this oil leak before? And what does the square box do?

Thanks!

I think that's for the oil cooler if I'm not mistaken. Water hoses are connected to them and acts like a heat exchanger. Get it to Toyota!

Yep, that's a heat exchanger. It should not be leaking between the plates. As long as you are sure it is the heat exchanger, get Toyota to fix it.

There is a lot of oil and coolant plumbing in that area, make sure the oil is not traveling from elsware. Oil is funny, a little oil looks like a lot when it comes to oil leaks.
