My 2005 Tundra 4 dr crew cab has 150,000 miles with brakes that are a little spongy. The brakes have had basic maintenance up to now – replaced pads and the rear brakes are original.
Should I rebuild with stock parts or are there any upgrade parts that would improve braking. I have 16 inch stock wheels. Any advice or feedback from other owners that have gone thru the same thing and any other brake recommendation will very appreciated.

I had a "spongy" brake pedal on my First Gen. It wasn't the brake pads. The problem was in the master cylinder and not the pads. That issue came up well before 150K miles on that truck.

I'd check the whole system before deciding the spongy pedal is due to pads.

When was the last time the fluid was replaced?
