Hello everyone, I've got a Tundra that hasn't had the best service history that I am trying to bring back from the brink. The Truck is a 2007 4.7 with 260,000 miles.

Went and did an Oil change and after the oil change the oil pressure gauge was reading low and the truck started reading codes P0012 and P0022. Redid oil change a week later using a full synthetic. The oil that drained was very dark and indicated sludge. There is a burning oil smell and a little smoke coming from the engine but otherwise fires up perfectly. I have read about VVTi filters getting clogged and the solenoids going bad and the PCV valve going bad as well. The only thing is I don't know where any of these are located.

Basically I am asking whether I am wasting my time or can this be brought back?
