  1. Transmission Issues: Will replacing the valve body fix my problem?

    Problems: Maintenance, Warranty, Repair, Issues
I have an issue with hesitant shifting from 3rd to 4th at low rpm on flat roads. I changed & flushed the transmission fluid, but still had the same problem. I hooked it up to techstream and got P0729 & P2714. I cleared the codes and a day later I got P0761 & P2714. I changed out the SLT & S3...
  2. Shackles vs Blocks & how do they affect stuff

    Tundra Suspension Talk
Skip the spacers and the blocks, it feels like your truck is on stilts. Put on some coilovers and shackles for a better ride. You'll need a differential drop and a carrier bearing drop.

  6. New standard is to always replace rotors..?

    Brake Pads/Rotor Reviews
I'll say! I just put on Hawk pads and slotted rotors, cost me less than $200. Shouldn't take them more than 20 minutes to swap the pads.

$250 for for just replacing the pads?
  8. 4 wheel drive won't engage

    Problems: Maintenance, Warranty, Repair, Issues
Check the breather tubes on the actuators. The tubing cracks, falls off and let's water into the actuator. I had to replace the rear one and it was cheaper to buy a salvaged transfer case than the actuator and extra labor to replace it. Hopefully it's the front actuator. That's easy to...
  9. Am I able to fix code P2440?

    Problems: Maintenance, Warranty, Repair, Issues
You have to take them off and dry them out. Better off buying the bypass and not wasting your time messing with something that may not be fixable or will break again shortly.
  10. Napa Adaptive One Pads and Reactive One Rotors

    Brake Pads/Rotor Reviews
Glad it worked out! Those two screw holes allow you to use two M8 screws to push the rotors off without having to bang on them.
  11. Selling my 03 Tundra

    First Gen Tundra 2000-2006
I had 275K miles on an 02' Sequoia until the frame rusted out. Other than basic wear and tear stuff, I replaced the timing belt, water pump & new exhaust system at 225k. I would have kept driving it another 50k miles if it wasn't rusted at the crossmember where the steering rack mounts.
  12. STOPTECH or CENTRIC rotors

Tundra Parts, Accessories and Exterior Mods
I try to flush it once a year since I drive a lot. 1/4" clear tubing looped up on the bleeders to prevent air getting back into the bleeder. I have a mason jar with a barbed fitting to catch the fluid, also heavier so it doesn't tip over.

  14. STOPTECH or CENTRIC rotors

Tundra Parts, Accessories and Exterior Mods
Same experience here on the stoptech rotors, rubbing on the dust covers after install because the inside lip is too wide and really rusty after a year. Last month I had a seized front caliper which wore down the pad. I ended up with new pads (hawk) and calipers all around (seized bleeders broke...
  15. Tie Rod Boot leak?

    Problems: Maintenance, Warranty, Repair, Issues
Easiest solution is to clean the boot of with some alcohol and see if the fluid reappears. Next step would be a power steering stop leak additive.
  16. Suspending entire vehicle in air simultaneously?

    Off-Topic Discussion
Wouldn't it make better sense to do your fluid changes in the mall parking lot? I put plywood under my jack stands so the don't leave marks on the asphalt or sink in.
