Recommended Tire and Wheel Size?

Hey everyone, I just purchased some 5100s and coachbuilder shims and +3 shackles. I will be setting the 5100s on the middle setting. I have searched some threads here and had some questions. I want to have the wheels and tires ready to go so I can get them put on the same time.

1. What is the largest Tire size I could go with for 18 and 20 inch wheels?
2. Is there a recommended offset or certain amount of backspacking needed if I want my tires to stick past my fenders .5 - 1 inch?
3. Any pics with anyone with a similar set up?

Thanks again!

I'm in the same boat as you, getting the fox 2.5 next week to level the truck, will be using the stock 18" wheels and would prefer bfg all terrains, sizes available are 285/65 18 or 305/65 18.

Any suggestions?

Are you cool with removing and trimming plastic, and doing the BMC? Then you can fit 37x12.5s. https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tun...4x4-trd-5.html

And I'd like to pause for a moment of **** YOU PHOTO BUCKET!!!! Because all @KevinK 's pics are down.

Offset of +25 to +35mm is advised to minimize clearance issues. 12.5" tires will stick out a little.

Rear seat removed to make room for storage and bikes. King or ADS shocks with 700 lb springs, ~2" lift (may cheap out though). Rear leaves, maybe air bags. And more!

Thanks Ruff! I dont mind removing plastic or trimming. I would prefer not too. Not sure if I want to go as big as what you are saying...

It's easy: https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tun...clearence.html

Get 9" wide rims with +25, +35mm offset, and tires up to 35x12.5, and you shouldn't need to cut the body mount (it's steel).

If you are offroading much at all I'd get 18s, otherwise 20s are fine on road. This is a great site for checking what tires are available:https://tiresize.com/tiresizes/35-inch-tires/

Sweet. Thanks rruff! I plan on getting Fuel Hostage 18s or 20s. I am leaning towards the BFG KAO2.

My shims and shackles are going on today. Just added some 295/70/18 Toyo AT2's with +20 fuel vectors. I think it looks perfect. 34in tire and its not too wide. +20 gives the truck a nice stance, not too aggressive but definitely noticeable. Tomorrow I'll have pics with shims and +3's installed

Backspacing is defined by width and offset, it isn't independent.

I would love to see pics. I have the 6112/5160 set up and looking to add 2 shims each side and the Toytec shackles in back. I have Camburg UCA's sitting on the shelf. I am looking at putting 305/55R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler's on. Not sure of the rims yet but leaning towards the Rockstar 2 with some custom painting. I figure the stance will be similar.
