Question: Thule Xsporter with Bed Rails

Greetings, I have been stalking around on the forum for a while but my first post (obviously). For those Tundra owners that are using the Thule Xsporters, do you have the bedrail track system? If so, what adapter number are you using (i.e. same as the Tacoma - XK3)? I have gone through the Thule Fit Guide and can't seem to find the answer that I am looking for.

I am looking to try to get the Xsporter but still have use of my bedrail tracks.

Thanks in advance for the help.

From the Thule Fit Guide, it appears not.

I saw this in the fit guide as well, but have noticed that there are a forum members that have figured out how to use these with the track system in place. Thanks for the response.

For future reference to those looking at the Xsporter 500 system for the Tundra with the factory track system. The XK3 adapters (meant for Tacoma) will work with the Tundra with the track system in place.

If I decide to go that way, pics will follow.

That's right... It's an 14' with a foot print gas pedal and a Hurst speed shifter with a pool-ball grip.

So i purchased the 500xt system with the Tacoma adapters and they don't seem to fit. From my early attempts, it seems you have to take out the rail system. I will wait and see what you figure out.

I believe the 442XT earlier model and 500XT current model has the same mounting hardware, but to use the factory bed rails of the Tundra...........kit number XK2.

The 500xt doesn't have that notch or cut area where the XK2 holds on to. I did write to Thule hoping they will come out with one in the future. Otherwise i am still looking for a home solution.

I just bought a like new condition 422XT on craigslist. The reason I bought the older model was to get the XK2 adapter to fit with my Tundra. Tired of waiting for Thule to have one for the 500XT. I do have a question.... How tight were your XK2 adapters sliding into the 422XT? I just received a set that were so tight that you would have to hammer them in. I called Thule and they thought they may be machined wrong. I'm waiting for another set to arrive this week.

So i may have found a way to make this work. After looking further I noticed the Tacoma adapters fit but can get high enough to latch on to the base. I noticed the thing stopping it is the middle piece that goes in the the bed rail. So i went ahead and cut the piece off and were able to place them in. Its still tight but its probably better than loose. I didnt have enough time to finish the install and hopefully i don't run into anything. I am attaching image of what i did. Please let me if this is some how a bad idea. Thank you.

Image 1: shows it can't fit.
Image 2: what i shaved off the clamps.
Image 3: fitting tight after i shave it.
Image 4: comparing shaved clamp to unshaved.

Finally got the whole system on. Part of the bed liner gets in the way of the clamps. But I was able to find an area that will find my Thule cargo. Also the little metal pads that you put on as you tight the screws are just exact, not much room. Was able to use the lock system. Including some pics.
