Angry Entune Freezing Issues

Hi All,

I've had one heck of a problem with my entune system freezing up when I try to make phone calls. I contacted Toyota corporate, they told me to do the latest dealer update, I did the update, and it still sucks. I'd say that on 50% of my phone calls when I'm hooked up via bluetooth that the system will freeze and completely restart. I'm using an iphone X with the latest apple software, and the Toyota software update is 010192.

Has anybody else been experiencing the same? The dealer tech said this was a common issue, but it's so bad I almost find it hard to believe that this can be a common issue.

There's your problem! Every time a major iOS update comes out, or a new iPhone is released, people come here bitching about it not working.

Iím having this issue and went through the update process and everything to no avail. I was told that anything after the 6 or 6s was not supported by dealer and warranty department. ****ing ridiculous. I donít have Bluetooth headphones, speakers, etc stop working with every iPhone update. Mine freezes and restarts when using Siri or phone calls frequently.

Toyotaís dropping the ball here.

Ummmmmmm, well, it wasn't working on the 3 prior software versions either, so I think there's a bit of an issue BEYOND the latest version of iOS being released.

That is hugely disappointing. I absolutely love my Tundra, but honestly this would deter me from buying another Toyota in the future. Does that seem hyperbolic? Yes? Is that a ridiculous statement? Probably. But, it's such a huge pain that I would consider going to..... well, a lot of them have this issue, but it still leads me to think about what's next.

Delete the phone from the radio ..delete the radio form the phone. Power down both then back on add the phone back to the radio and try that.

Spyder head and tail lights.
Painted front bumper to match
New led running lights painted to match
painted grill black was chrome
6" suspension with new Bilstein shocks in the rear
Bed rug, LED bed lights
Powder coated front coils and rear sway bar (Blue)
Bammufflers

Please report back. I'm in the same boat with an iPhone 8 and have given up the expectation of the integrated phone system working with any consistency.

Funny that I don't have this issue with my Android phone :'D


But, when it happens on GM, Ford, and Dodge's with Iphones, most of the time, resetting and re-syncing makes it better. At least that's what my buddies with Iphones and those makes say when they ask me if I have the same issue with my yota.


Since the last few updates on another buddies Iphone it keeps dropping his bt headphones. And now siri thinks he is asking for things when he isn't trying to get her attention.

I have a new iPhone XS Max and no issues so far, the wife has the same phone and 2016 Rav4 no issues. We also use the USB port in the dash to charge the phone. I hope the reset works for you.

Well, I gave it a try. Itís made it one night with out the freeze and then restart issue taking place. Iíll have more time with it tonight (couple hours in vehicle), so if I end up having the issue again Iíll be sure to report back. Hereís to hoping this is one less issue with my truck.

I had the exact same issue in my 2014. In addition to what was listed earlier (e.g. delete the phone from your radio), I deleted the Entune app from my phone. I haven't had any freeze-ups/restarts ever since.

Hope your problem is fixed.

It's been much better... However, today I did have another freeze and restart. Still better, but we'll see.

Oh wow, you're giving me new hope! I tried the phone delete and re-install and didn't have any luck. Finger crossed this one works.

It's the darndest thing. Half the time I can make a call no problem, and half the time it completely freezes and restarts. Extremely frustrating as I'd be happy to get rid of every other Entune App feature in exchange for being able to make a simple phone call.

Ehh it's happening pretty frequently again. Maybe still not as often but probably 2/10 times using siri or voice to text the radio freezes and restarts.
