AFE Mach Force Exhaust

I have searched here and through Google and cannot find much of anything. Is anyone here running the AFE Mach Force Exhaust on their 5.7l? The part number I am looking at is 49-46008. I am trying to get rid of the drone on the Magnaflow. Found this exhaust for about 450 shipped so I am trying to decide if I should jump on it or hold out for something else.

Google "Vibrant Resonator"..
When added to any muffler, it has killed the drone (as many threads have claimed)..

Lowballed an eBay seller and they accepted the offer. Guess this is on its way. Ended up with the 49-46008-B, same thing but a black exhaust tip instead of polished.

I guess this thread will serve as a spot to write a review once I get it bolted on. I decided to jump on it as I found that my exhaust is leaking at all three welds on my Magnaflow. That could explain the difference in sound, I am just done dealing with it. I am going to have one of my buddies re-weld it once its off and hopefully can recoup some of the money.

I am curious as to if you like it or not after installing it...

I had the afe on my fj, and had 2 issues...

Primary issue was rust, it rusted bad within a few weeks of installing, and only got worse...

I fought back and forth, sent pics multiple times, was told that I would receive a new exhaust then nothing came, then told again, then nothing... eventually I was told that I lived in the rust belt and there was nothing they could do for me...

The clamps didn't rust, nor did the muffler case, ONLY THE TUBING (cheap ass chinese tubing) the clamps were stamped 409ss, which is what the tubing was supposed to be...

Afe can still suck it. After how they treated me I can and will tell my opinion and truth about their exhaust and share pics...

Within a few weeks it looked like this from behind... Horrible...

The clamps vs the tubing... Yea, same materials, sure...

also, the welds rusted really fast...

Yep...

here was the factory pipe which was had seen 2 winters if I remember correctly...

afe can vs afe tubing...

Uggllllyyyyy... especially considering this was after just a few weeks.... It was winter, and was Mi winter, but this became the most rusty ( and only got worse) part on my fj while I owned it...

So, back to the point, my second issue, and was the most obvious while in the truck and the gf's most hated issue... THE DRONE... It was horrible. Worse than the tunder, several times worse... At the time afe just said it was normal for v6 engines to drone... It was really bad.

I got used to it, but after taking the quad up north (4 hrs plus) I would get off the highway and my ears would actually seem funny, and we could hardly talk on the way up...

Hopefully it is not like this on the tunder version, but I dunno...

I lost all hope and respect for their exhaust side of the company with how they handled my issue.

Thanks for your info. I live in the desert so rust will not be an issue, but coming here from Ohio I feel your pain. That is totally unacceptable. I personally have had no issue with customer service from AFE. In fact, they were going to trade me my 4R intake for an intake for my CM. I would have taken them up on it but a buddy of mine wanted it for his FJ and I found one for my Tundra locally so it worked out for us both.

As for the drone in your FJ, I came here from a 4R with a Magnaflow on it and it droned. My buddies FJ with a Flowmaster on it also drones. The 4.0l just doesn't sound good with an exhaust. Even when it seems like it does, it is too ricey.

I also didn't have an issue with their service the first or second time they said they would send out a new exhaust... it was the third time that I had seen nothing come then their excuse after they promised me a new exhaust. First they thought I hot a bad batch of tube, then the aluminized tube and it wasn't coated somehow... then this and that then they said i was basically screwed. I had bought every product they made for my fj... wasnt all too happy then. Had they stood behind their word I woulda been ok with it.

I was looking into this too, but like you found no one had sound clips and with the experience Powertechn2 had I ended up getting MBRP duals instead.
Feel free to be the first to post a vid clip when you get time

I really like the MBRP. I honestly don't know if I've experienced drone, but I haven't gotten any headaches from this one. It sounds deep and once you are up to speed you don't really notice it's there.

I can't state enough why the TRD exhaust is worth the premium: NO DRONE, high quality stainless steel, great sound without being obnoxious, geniune Toyota so no hassles with warranty. It looks great, sounds great and the quality is equal to or better than anything out there. To me it is worth every penny.

It would be nice if they offered a couple different configurations i.e dual side, straight back or dual single side(like NASCAR).

Got the exhaust installed today. Pretty impressed with it honestly. Cruising around town it stays quiet but really opens up when you put the hammer down. I will post some photos tomorrow if I have time.

video's mang...that's what we want to hear! If you have time, outside clip at idle and light rev's and then one in cab while driving it, so we can hear what it sounds like with load.

how do you compare it to the magnaflow you had before?
