Hey All

one gotcha, if you dont intend to have to see a dealership to get the key working you'll need Tech stream to bind the transponder to your truck.

it caught me. But there is tons of info on the fourms

All up, cost about $80. And there more stuff to play around with in TechStream if you're so inclined. It's super easy, don't be afraid to give it a shot.

I think we talked about this several months ago...

Where did you buy techstream from again? Link to the one you bought?

I bought my cable on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=sr_1_3&sr=8-3

Got the software here.
https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tun...ings-such.html

You'll need a laptop, this part can be a pain in the ass. so you might need to do some reading. PM if you get stuck on this step I'll gladly help.

That sucks. I have Windows 7 64bit. It's all but impossible to find something that is compatible with my system.

You can actually make this work on any OS if you're patient.

Full disclosure, I'm a fairly experienced sys admin.

I use a program called Virtual box, it allows me to run XP on my Mac, or any other computer for that matter. I'll write up a how to and post it up, with a copy of the virtual image. I've been meaning to do this for awhile.

It MUST be done with Techstream or some other programming tool n 2007+.

There are two parts that have to be programmed...the lock/unlock and the immobilizer.

If people here are still buying them and have had no problems I'd feel comfortable ordering one, but I'd like to know some other people have still been ordering them. I bought a copy of techstream about 6 months ago as well, now I've just gotta figure out what I did with the thing....
Hey all, wanted to provide an update as I got the one-piece flip blade key yesterday. Ordered from distributor - ovnisf Keys and followed the paypal instructions. No acknowledgement or shipping notice from when I ordered it on 30 Jan until I got it in the mail on 11 Feb and no answer to my follow-up e-mail on 10 Feb asking if it had shipped yet. $55 for the "G" chip flip key, $1.50 to have it cut at local hardware store. Programmed the key (immobilizer) and the fob (wireless lock) via TechStream and everything works perfectly.

Regarding TechStream, thanks to a heads-up from Mikisopa, I ordered from Aleksandyr (from eBay: 2015 Toyota Techstream Tis Mini VCI Lexus Scion Diagnostic Scanne Tool Kit | eBay) back on 10 Jan and the disk and cable arrived 30 Jan. The installation walk-thru guide that he provided allowed for painless installation of v10.20.030 on my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit laptop. All Windows versions are supported according to the seller and I followed the Win7 guide (attached) easily. It's about $20 more than the Amazon Chinese cables, but worked flawlessly for me right out of the gate.

Hope this is helpful.
