Old video of Tundra destroying competition

I remember a comparison video posted on here a long time ago. I think it was a red 2007 Tundra that embarrassed all the other full size trucks in acceleration, towing, etc. I've searched everything I can think of and can't find it. Could someone post a link?

Back in 2007 the Tundra was revolutionary. The big 3 didn't have anything that came close. Since then the big 3 (and Nissan) have come a long way but I still think the Tundra can hold it's ground.

And since then, Toyota has chosen to be that old reliable friend that just WORKS....the others have chosen to step ahead and innovate. I can appreciate Toyotas position on it but I think they have waited a little too long.

I do agree but there is something to be said for just being reliable. I had a 2012 f150 ecoboost that was great when new but by 45k had a bunch of issues both mechanically and electronically. We just couldn't trust it to go anywhere. That little twin turbo v6 could really pull and all the electronic gizmos were great, until they quit working.

I am fine with the old school and just works approach. Could go for even more old school features. Full float axles and more payload would be nice. Between the Landcruiser, Hilux, and light duty Hino's, Toyota already has all of the parts on hand to make the best pick up truck if they chose to. No innovation needed.

I am guessing the hold up is purely the ridiculous bureaucracy they would have to navigate and politician's "foundations" they would have to "contribute" to in order to sell them in US.

Cant locate it now, but the video that sold me on the Tundra was with a Toyota engineer comparing various parts from the Tundra to other 1/2 ton and 1 ton trucks. It was filmed outside under a shade structure. Wish I could find it.

2013 DC 2WD 6.5' Bed 3UR-FE w/Tow and Work Truck Packages. Auburn LSD. Cooper ST Maxx 275/70/18.

This.

A decade ago they built a tuck that was innovative and reliable. Now it's just reliable.

There is no reason why they can't add some innovation back in.

Really? I thought the guy was an idiot. He stayed on major populated roads. You saw him pass a squad car sitting on the side of the road every 30 seconds. I don't know what chance he possibly thought he had. The chargers kept their distance until they received the order to take him out. If they pursue too closely and cause a serious accident, that's the end of their career. Maybe if he would have taken some back roads and done a little off roading he could have lost them enough to bail.
