- Going from the 20" wheel to an 18" wheel isn't what will change the speed. It's the overall diameter of the tires.
I had 295/70-18 on a level kit without the spacers and had to push the front splash gaurd forward a bit but that was all the rubbing. Then I did the 6" lift with the spacers and it had no rubbing.
But when I went to the 35/12.50-18's on the 6", I had the rub on the front again. I had to use a grinder and trim the chrome behind that splash guard so I could push it further. But it worked I have no rubbing again.
And with my 35's my speedo is only off about 3-4 mph's.
