Don't think it was sammiched. The rear is in too good of a shape for that. They must have been going really fast and hit something big and solid.

I wonder if it was SC'd. You might get that cheap at salvage price.

I bet when it hit, it went in the air and landed hard on a concrete lane divider. You can see a perfect crease in the center and steps.
