I haven't changed the tranny fluid. I am planning to do spark and all fluid by this summer. I am at 180,00 now.

Hmm my last one made it 74,000.

It was on its third transmission , second alternator, never had a radio that could function properly (freezing, restarting etc.), need a rear main seal replaced and also needed 1300 repair to the transfer case. Thankfully I had the extended warranty.

Hopefully my current one continues to climb trouble free. Currently at 66,000.

Yup 180,000 no real issues, and only maintenance has been oil changes and fluid swaps. She was at the dealer and they said I had a cam tower leak. I am not sure that diagnosis is correct as I haven't seen any oil on exhaust manifold or ground. I will be taking her to another mechanic or getting the dye to trace myself. This could be the first and most expensive fix if it is a cam tower leak. I think 180,000 in 4 years is roughly 3,500 miles a month....not too bad in my opinion. I don't plan on getting rid of her either.

Just pull back the little liner in the fender well and check the cam towers, unless it's spewing out oil, leave it alone. Cam tower jobs are expensive and it requires tearing apart half the engine, you don't want a newbie tech to do that and mess something up.

Pull the liner in the fender well.. I will do this today or tomorrow. I have reviewed the process for the Cam Tower jobs, and I agree don't want a newbie attempting this on my truck getting experience.

2012 5.7 RW Crewmax. 107k Had the valve cover gaskets replaced under my warranty. Just after the warranty expired my AC compressor seized and had that replaced along with the condenser. Other than that love my truck.

13 Tundra 135k miles - Both front door actuators, Leaf Springs repaired on both sides months apart, OLF every 10k miles - recent diagnosed with cam tower leak, I"ll probably have the water pump replaced at the same time. By far the most issues I've dealt with a Toyota - Previous 03 Tacoma had 225k miles prior to trading in and only "repair" was a new clutch at 195k miles; Prior to that my 91 2wd pickup had 250k miles prior to selling -

There is a guy that was over 900k on his 5.7L last year, he doesn't post on the boards much because he's always on the road.
