One thing I have noticed is that if I operate the AC in recirc mode, then I get the funky AC smell. In the normal AC mode, no smell. I attribute that to the recirc mode leaving mosture in the AC ducts.

Just returned from first long trip, 2000 miles making a total of 2800 miles on my 2017 D.C. TRD. I love this truck! Averaging 17 mpg at 80% highway with speeds of 65-80. Power is fantastic as is the transmission compared to my old 2004 GMC Z71; shift and logic are impeccable. MPGs only 1/2 to 1 less. Brakes are also much better. Can't wait to tow the trailer.
Only real complaint is the glare from the chrome vent rings and the faux stainless dash, console and shifter trim. Gotta be a solution for that?

Only ones available in that model had the 26 gallon tank and no trailer package, but they did have the extending tow mirrors. The ones with 38 gallon tanks and tow package didn't have extending mirrors .

Mine came with the tow package and tow mirrors. I think all the newer 5.7s come with tow standard. And you can buy a Transfer Flow 46gal tank for ~$1.2k or so or get a 38 gal Toyota tank for less. Lots of aftermarket upgrades for these trucks available now.

Recently I am having internment issues with the AIP...again. I had the AIP replaced under warranty at 153k (I reported it to the dealer before the 150k cut off, they just that long to get me scheduled).

Now for some reason it is starting to act up again. I doesn't go into limp mode and it has only happened twice in the past 2 months. I just pull the ground and de-energize it, 5 minutes later in all good.

So who knows, it has 220k on it now and that's really been my only issue. I will either gut the AIP and clean it really well or I will just bypass it.

I've had my 2014 Tundra for a month now and love this truck. The towing power is great, the low gearing for off-road ascents and descents is amazing, seats are very comfortable for my 6'2" frame, lots of room for the dogs in the DC area. Can't think of any real issues. If I had to nitpick, I'd say I wish one of the cigarette outlets stayed powered on when the truck was off. That about covers it.

I have almost 200 miles on my new truck.

IMO Toyota missed a big opportunity to also color match the silver to the rest of the interior. Because there is an identical vent on the opposite sides it makes it look VERY out of place being 2 different colors. Its also pretty much the only silver pieces in the vehicle (except for a small piece on the steering wheel and a small strip on the door). Its just too bad they didnt do these couple more pieces and call it a day.

-The silver looks cheap and plastic; I am going to have these pieces wrapped to match but its going to be a PITA to try and get a suitable match.

Garage
that and the silver/grey on the radio does not match the trim right under it, one looks painted the other one looks "machined"

awful, in the platinum it would be a ton better if they just made everything the color of the piece below the glove box, that dark gun metal color, that with all the black would look tits

I understand the problem with no dipstick for the tranny, which by the way how do you check fluid level? But what is wrong with cartridge oil filters?

Alright, I have 2 things: #1 OEM NAV SUCKS BALLS and #2 , The vented leather seats in my Tundra, having recently went for a road trip in my buddies Silverado, Toyota ain't got shit on Chevy when it comes to ventilated seats. That silverado, you could feel the air cooling the boys.
