This thread will document me building a 9 second Tundra sleeper truck nicknamed "Thundra".
For that, I will need to make around 1000 whp and be able to deliver it to the ground consistently.
I was a little past halfway to that goal last year with 570 whp and a 12.3 second pass at the strip.
The eventual plan is for a fully built long block, 2650cc Harrop blower, big shot of nitrous, big injectors, DAP tune, IPT built trans, drag radials etc etc.
How crazy and expensive is this going to get?? Time will tell >:D

BRX ran mid 10s on his twin turbo setup last year and I haven't seen anything from him since.
Where did you hear that he blew up his new motor?

@VictorG, too bad 3UR-FE engines are not as common as LS pushrod engines.

You could save worry about the bottom end, run 2-3 passes before destruct, then go to the junkyard to get another one (~$200) like Cleetus McFarland. "Hael, Yeah, Bruther" :D

Just kiddin'. Watching the build. ;)

Personally I like turbo over sc, but either way, power is power. I hope you get there man. Great work.

It's nice to see people trying to make big power from a Yota.

I wish our engines were as common and easy to build as an LS, or an sbc, 5.0, hell, even the old 4.6, or the shitty 5.4 hahaha.

Wow, little things can make a big difference.

I broke my tranny ?. Any idea how to get it built stronger? I wouldn't want rebuild an OEM trans again. Mine was stock with IPT VB mods.

Not quite 9s yet, but the truck ran its first 11 second pass yesterday on the wild streets of Northern Mexico!
The 0-60 mph is pretty respectable as well at 3.3 seconds (with 1ft rollout, which is how car magazines etc. measure it).
She is getting there!>:D

Weight reduction -Advanced

This video is about how to reduce the truck race weight by another 330+ lbs if you are really committed to the process.

The engine is in the truck and running!

Here is a time lapse of the forged engine build and install in the truck.
It drove home fine, but there is a rattling/knocking noise at a specific RPM range just above idle.
I am hoping it is just the supercharger coupler (even though I replaced it like 4 months ago), and not the internals of the motor :|

Put around 150 miles on the new motor and decided to give it a quick 1/4 mile workout.
Well, the 8.5:1 compression has definitely decreased the truck's performance.
I only did one run and got 13.1@104, where as my best run on the stock 10.2:1 engine was 12.2@112 (in much colder temps).
Waiting on the upgraded S/C pulley to bring the power back up.

Not sure why you went too low on the CR. Mine is 9.8:1. I have installed a 50mm custom made 50mm SC pulley with the other ASP pulleys, gained around 4.5 PSI. The problem that I have is that the boost is never stable, fluctuating between 10 and 12 PSI. Hope things work out for you.

Pulled the blower out on the weekend.
Installed the 50mm pulley, 200 hp direct port nitrous system and replaced the coupler.
The boost peaks at 14 PSI now >:D
Haven't tried NOS yet, my bottle is empty, but ran a 12.3 @ 109 on motor today.

That looks like a Northern Mexico Christmas bow!
I like that!
Finally the snow has melted and the Northern Mexico race season is open again!

Hey Viktor,
Here's a few more Supercharged Tundra's that still sneak around keeping low profiles. Striking when ever needed. Keeping Dodges / Honda's and Subaru's at bay.. Haha Ill get you Reggies Fully rebuilt 5.7L to a 6.2L Video. Got some digging to do.

Cant seem to load our quick video of our South Cali Tundra Gathering last summer.?. TT just cant handle the Pixels or something.?. Ill dumb it down re-send.

Viktor don't mean to HYJack your thread as I'm sub to your the success of your build. Past & Future. Ive added 2 2nd gen projects for us staring at our dash tubes. And for us stuck with 22''TRD Forged Rims without their center caps. Ive attacked both project issues. Heres a few pic's on the progress. Anyone with even a slight mechanical ability can do this. RB..

 ViktorG.. Hey buddy I have to ask you about your build. Your avatar states you've installed AWD conversion on your RWD Single cab ?.. Please explain what exactly did you do? Did you re install the front transfer case and ETC.?.
When I raced 8th mile in 4 hi. I would hit 89 - 90 MPH. My steering wheel was shaking do to my transfer case gearing was maxed out. With that knowledge I took this situation to Nitro Gearing. The guy set me up with proper gearing size for both front and rear diff. Guaranteed to not max out 120 MPH plus.. Is this the direction you've gone with? And can you turn your AWD off ? Good stuff Viktor

 ViktorG.. Hey buddy I have to ask you about your build. Your avatar states you've installed AWD conversion on your RWD Single cab ?.. Please explain what exactly did you do? Did you re install the front transfer case and ETC.? I so dig your concepts. I was looking at a 2009 RWD Single cab back in 2012. Knowing my 2008 SC Trd 4x4 DC launches are so contagious and exhilarating because of no wheel spin all traction was the way to launch these Tundra's. My idea about buying the 09 RWD Single cab so I could install the front transfer case and start my way with the fastest Single cab off the light around. Everyone in Diego and here in Seattle thought I was out of my mind (Which I am) to go that direction.
And here a few years later you have installed this AWD fetcher that works. His Single Cab started life as a 4X4 and he added a Sequoia transfer case. I've not read that there's a limiting speed for the transfer case.
