Wedding Shenanigans - November 2016

On November 5th, 2016 I married my best friend! It was absolutely perfect in every way, but my wife and I agree we're so glad its over with! Between planning it all on our own, making it a destination wedding in Sedona, AZ and how much money we dropped...it's a massive relief that we can finally carry on with our lives together! Over the course of the weekend I took very few pics, but nonetheless I'd say some are worth posting

Our photographer was kind enough to take some professional shots of TRON during the wedding too so stay tuned for those!

All loaded up leaving Tucson....yes those are Kegs and yes Barrio Brewing of Tucson, AZ hooked us up for free!!

Setting up the venue with some help from fellow tundra owner @PLC721

Turkey Creek, Aravaipa Canyon, AZ - November 2016

Following the wedding, the wife and I needed to get out of the house since we wouldn't take our Honeymoon till a couple weeks later. We joined up with my buddy Jamie and his 2016 Tacoma, and took a day trip to Turkey Creek for a big TacomaWorld campout.

Along the way we passed through a construction zone and since it was super windy Tron decided to snatch some caution tape with the front bumper. Once we hit dirt I made it my flag for the day

Aravaipa Canyon is still one of my favorite locations in AZ since it has running water year round. Driving through the canyon you come across plenty of water crossings!

And way back when I first ran this trail in Rinzler....

And back to the very last time I ran this with Rinzler

Jamie let me drive his Tacoma around later that day as well. Definitely a cool ride and made me miss mine, but still would never be the same, which is why I'm so happy with the Tundra!

After a couple months I finally got another alignment done! Surprisingly it wasn't too bad, but thanks to Firestone's new Hunter HawkEye Elite System, it was a quick and easy appointment I mean for a $30k investment it better be haha o_O

Butcher Jones Trail to 4 Peaks Road- December 2016

Since I still had never been to Butcher Jones near Saguaro Lake, Jamie and I decided to do a quick run out there and check it out. I'm glad I was finally able to get out there and see it, the views were pretty awesome! I also got to use my newly downloaded LeadNav App which made for easy navigation We aired down for smooth wheeling and headed toward Cove 1 first, lemme just say these ADS 3.0's floating on 24-25psi is what dreams are made of!

Parked at Cove 1, but didn't stay too long since there were quite a few people camped out. Definitely will be coming back to check out all the coves when we have more time!

Heading out to 4 Peaks road. When the day I finally own a RZR comes, this trail is near the top of my list to break it in

Looking back toward Saguaro Lake. Time for poser shots!

Even the distant mountains approve of this one

Crown King Trail - December 2016

The next day after Butcher Jones, Jamie and I headed out early to run the Backway to Crown King Trail North of Lake Pleasant. This was another trail I always wanted to do with my Tacoma but the trail is long, 4x4 recommended, and always changing from the weather. Now that I've done it I have no doubt I could've run it in Rinzler, but moving on to bigger and better things this year I'm glad I could run this trail for the first time in Tron We had planned for a few more trucks but it ended up being just us and Brian in the red Tacoma.

Airing down

Method Mesh

Fast forward a couple miles

Stuffed

and Droop!

I need to teach Jamie how to take landscape pics but it was a slightly stressful situation haha. Couple obstacles in and I was reminded how long this truck is...but I still made it over with a little skinny pedal and use of my @SDHQ OFF-ROAD Sliders

Made it! Looks so simple from here, but looking at the size of the road below you can sort of get an idea

I have a lot of GoPro video to go through from this trip and plan to upload it. I recorded myself going through most the obstacles but don't have pics... This obstacle was tight for Tron and I have some new battle scars on the sliders, but for Jamie's taco it was a really good articulation challenge. He got hung up just before this, but with a quick shift into crawl control it literally walked right through the rest of it. His front tire was off the ground in the first one, and the rear tire was teetering in the second pic!

Lake Pleasant in the distance

Got out for one of the simple obstacles

Made it to the top and headed straight to the Saloon for a celebratory beer! Only took us 3 hours and 50 min to get there! Just in time to watch my Packers beat the Bears tho! :headbang:

Lets just say, @PLC721 has driven in my truck, after driving on his 2.5 kings....and now wants to buy ADS 3.0s He can give you the best comparison between the 2 but my 3.0s use a 650lb spring and have compression adjusters. Not only is the 3.0 better suited for the heavier truck, but the springs give a nice plush ride on and offroad. ADS quite honestly just needs the business and demand to produce them. As of right now, "mostly" everyone is just willing to jump to the 2.5s and call it a day. What they don't realize is how well 3.0s handle offroad and keep up with the weight, less shock fade

No movement since 2017 in the TundraTalk forum! If you are looking at getting a set of Deavers, will the +3" shackles work with them? I saw MCM said they are a no-go with too much negative arch.

Yea I definitely need to update this thread! Correct, MCM has mentioned this to me as well. I ended up getting a custom Expo pack built locally in Phoenix, AZ.

New Years Eve Shenanigans 2016

For new years eve, the wife and I drove up to Flagstaff, AZ to stay with our good friends and family. Wasn't really planning to wheel, but there was snow with a ton on the way, and I had not seen snow for the entire year of 2016! So with that said Mike, Andrew and I all headed out toward Schnebly Hill Road from Flagstaff for some muddy snow wheeling!

@Snow tank and I .... RIP

Once the clouds began to clear, the views of a cold rainy Sedona were quite spectacular!

@mh.meier

We had to turn around from here so it was full speed ahead dashing through the SNOW!

She was DIRTY!

Then I had fun filling in the grill with snow!

and New Years Eve party haha....I did say shenanigans didn't I
