Question on Head Unit replacment

I am in the process of replacing the Entune HU in a 2014 sr double cab with a Pioneer 7200NEX and an Idatalink Maestro RR.
Quick test and new HU is operating. However, there is one connector on the Entune that I am unable to identify. It is the square grey connector. The cable is a thick grey, about the same thickness as the antenna cable. What is this connector?

Thanks

I don't remember for sure, but probably the GPS antenna.

Unless it's different than the 5.7 trucks (don't think so), all 2014+ have a GPS antenna regardless of if the truck has Nav. In fact it's a conversion many, myself included, have done. Swapping out the non-Nav unit with a stock OEM Nav unit is plug and play, everything is pre wired including GPS.
Maybe the SRs didn't, I don't know. But if so then maybe it's the Sirius XM antenna.

Thanks for the quick replies Azblue!

Did some more research and found cable adapters with this plug. It appears to be for factory Satellite GPS/XM antenna. The Pioneer came with it's own GPS and I don't plan on XM. Looks like I will simply leave the cable disconnected.

Boy, does the Pioneer sound sooo much better than the factory HU!!!! Just a couple of issues to work out on my dyi install. One is to adjust the faceplate which is blocking the screen tilt for access to the dvd drive, and the other is the factory Mic does not seem to be working. Also have to verify the factory reverse camera. But it's too hot here in So. Cal. to continue today.

I had to run the Pioneer mic for bluetooth.
I couldn't use the factory Toyota mic.

There are a few threads on it.

I ran mine around the windshield and it is tucked up by the rearview mirror.
I don't ever think about it being there..

Thanks for the post.
I went out and verified the factory reverse camera is working. Next will be getting the mic that came with the Pioneer installed and resolve the clearance issue with the flip down display.

Flip down works. I was pressing the tilt button instead of the CD button. Doh!

I have completed my install. I am not the fastest person in the world, but I can usually get things done. Nav works. Android Auto works, hands free phone works, CD works, Radio works, Car info works. BU camera works, Steering wheel controls work. Sound is so so so much better than the factory HU. Biggest challenges were replacing the factory USB/AUX port under the AC controls and finding the right antenna adapter. The replacement USB/AUX is not a perfect snap-in replacement for the factory one, but I did not have to cut and splice wires. I did have to modify the case and am using silicon to hold in place. In all, I am very happy with my decision to replace the HU with the Pioneer 7200NEX plus Maestro RR. Total cost was about $700. If I do anything more, my next step will be to integrate the 4 cameras I use for off roading with the HU display. I have one camera in front of each front wheel, one in the grill to see over rises and one mounted on the back axle looking forward.

It's a little late but all you needed to retain your OEM USB is this Maestro adapter.

Maestro Acc-USB-TO2

It what I used in my 2014 SR5.
For some reason the cheapest place to get it is BestBuy online.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/maestro...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

One cannot use the AUX plug with this adapter, but most people don't use it anyway with USB and Bluetooth connections available.

I also ended up installing an HDMI to mirror to iPhone with an additional USB plug in my driver's 12v socket hole.

This USB is the #1 USB to the head unit and the #2 of the HU is the OEM plug.
I don't use the HDMI like I thought I would and I wanted to use the additional USB to charge the wife's phone when needed.
BUT, when I plugged her phone in to the #2 USB of the HU, it would put and 'incompatible device' error on the screen I had to cancel out.

Since I wanted a more precise amp meter, I replaced the passenger 12V plug with a meter with 2 powered USB port to charge her phone and all my other USB stuff.
I really don't need a 12v socket and if I had to have one I'd use the one in the console.

Just food for thought to whomever may be reading your thread.

I may still look into the Maestro as I am not real happy with the fit of the replacement port I bought. It was real cheap, so the loss of it's cost is no big deal.
