Viktor do you own the island or is it a 99 year lease of Native land?
There's a few islands close to me that are reserve land which are 99 year leases.

I've heard of those type of leases, but this one is fully private owned fortunately

I may have missed it, how long ago did you buy it and are you living there full time now?

Had I known just how ambitious this project was going to be, I may not have undertaken it lol.
Will definitely keep this thread updated, will post in chronological order from 2013 until now.

We got it in 2013.
Unfortunately, my wife and I both have to work full time for the next 20-30 years still, so I can't live on the island full time
We usually spend 4-5 weeks a year there.
The plan is to move there permanently after retirement.

Does the water freeze in the winter? If so can the ice support a snowmobile or pickup?

16 acres.
We bring in diesel for the generator and furnace.
Propane for hot water tank, stove and barbecue.
There is a 1500 Gal tank that gets filled with a water catchment system off the roof.

It's situated in a salt water inlet of the Pacific Ocean, plus the temperature often stays above freezing even in the middle of winter, so the inlet water never freezes.
I have had the freshwater pipes from the rainwater storage tank crack a couple of times over the winter though.
