Guys, stop comparing racks. Couple other threads for that.

Here's my rack. No blade server but does hold knives and chaffing dish.

You should upgrade and become your own ISP to compete with Comcast!

I've got a stack of 10 year old VME64 PowerPC Dual Core G4s from Curtis Wright I took home that they were throwing out at my work.

I was always thinking about setting up a server network at home but never got around to it. They were willing to give me a 3 phase VME rack, but I have no use for it.

Enough about racks.

With Itunes.. I added my movie folder and changed the media type of all the movies to "home videos".. Works perfectly on ATV.. Yes PC has to be on and itunes up, but thats not a big deal for me..

The only way I'm aware of getting it for free is to get yourself a high gain wifi outdoor antenna and log into a hotspot unless your neighbors are stupid enough to leave their connections open, some of mine do.

It's easier to just lower the price among several people in the area if they're willing to share your connection and cost.

Hell, half the cables from Comcast run through my attic since I'm in a townhouse and I could easily piggyback onto one of them if I was devious enough, but I'm not.

Cheap cable TV was easier back in the good ole days of analog broadcasts.

80s - stick a penny in the box to bridge a junction and get free premium channels.

80s/90s - buy a pirate box from the same guy selling you the cable box!

90s+ - subscribe to the basic channels and then re-route the signal around the box directly into the cable ready TV to get all the channels.

I miss those days.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to hack a Comcast modem to get more bandwidth if you're only paying for the "economy" internet package.

Haven't researched it, but I'm sure there are ways.

No need they're cheap enough. I thought the article I read to create a directional wifi antenna to point to a hotspot with a pringles potato chip can was interesting. I'm sure I could do it since I live 150 feet away from a Dunkin Donuts with free wifi, but they only offer 1Mbps rates.
