I would do it, but being from California I would tell McFarland I need $10 per hour, no less. Then I would smoke a fat one with Ted and try to bone the chick from that 70's show, I'd do my damn best to impregnate her.

I got a special deal with the agent of a SAG actress I met on the set of Mall Cop for $50/year. A lot of casting agencies assign one to you after you sign up for $75-$150/year. Some agencies are free, but you need to either submit a photo online (easy enough) to submit yourself as a background actor or go in person and wait in an hour long line for them to do a head shot.

Hardly worth it unless your willing to do commercials and drive all over the place since the SAG people have to pay around $2000/year for dues to cover I believe health insurance and other expenses (not sure of the details; it can be researched).

I just did it to avoid having to go to auditions and just have a casting agent call me after submitting a head shot and resume.

I've only gotten into two major feature films; The Invention of Lying and Mall Cop; neither of which I got into the film since my scenes were cut out and I couldn't afford to do it for a whole week; just 2-3 days at most.

I could actually make some decent cash on the side doing commercials, but my regular job pays me well enough. I just do it for fun.

I did go to an audition once when I was in Boston and it was convenient for the movie "The Town". I got called with the request for them to use my photo THEY took free of charge with no restrictions and turned them down because it could either be used for a family shot or God forbid a pedophile mug shot!

8.00 an hour? You either:

1 - have a real shitty job
b - have extreme narcissism ( extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.)
iii - get extreme "Wahlberg" wood when he's around.

I had one that said "I gagged Linda Lovelace" back in the day.

I'd say a little of (b) as I don't have a huge craving for admiration and draw the line at some point. I won't spend more then a couple days on set unless I got an interesting role. I try to modify my work hours so I don't have to use vacation time.

Everyone should try something different in life. You only live once.

I'm still looking into where in my area I can do kite boarding so I can spend the money and learn how to do it.

This is kinda of a crappy thing to say...

1. What business of yours is it what his job is, don't go around sticking your nose up at others. I find that my happiest friends aren't the ones with the best jobs and most toys, but are those that are living life as they want.
b. maybe wants attention (but doing what he/she wants, and would do it for free, so the $ amount doesn't matter, experiences can be priceless when it comes to memories and telling stories)
iii. To each his own...

Damn right Daze. I do stuff I like for free, if I were paid for it that would only be a plus.
