I'm not sure if the 08 has them but I know that mine and many (all?) of the newer ones do.

I just need some of your pain pills.

My M&P 40 is a 5 inch version. It has a mild recoil and a nice trigger pull. I am going to get the C.O.R.E (competition optics ready model) as my next weapon.

Would not mount it below steering wheel there an air bag there. Might end up with it permanently concealed

I mounted a quick release holster to the inside of my center console. Works really well and easy access.

I conceal carry my Sig 1911 on my hip and just keep it there when I get in the truck. I also have a Steyr M40 that I keep in my door. The reason for this is that sometimes I drive through some sketchy neighborhoods with a lot of crime. If the need to draw my gun while I'm sitting at a light in the driver's seat it is difficult to pull my gun unnoticed from my hip in that seated position. So if that situation arises I have an easily accessible .40 in the door that can be grabbed with little to no notice by the person who might be trying to hold me up or jack me.

I keep an XDm40 in the map pocket next to shifter, and extra mag in door compartment.
When in questionable areas of the city, the cover is unsnapped for quick access. For me, that's a lot easier and less conspicuous than opening the console. An XDs would fit in there a lot better, but I like having the16 round capacity.
