I built 2 because I figured Iíd mess one up. I have never messed with veneer, tried to cut out something like that out of wood, or use and oil finish. I had also never taken a guitar apart. I ended up re soldering all the grounds and doing some shielding wile it was apart.

Nice! Did you upgrade the pickups at all? I would have put in a full size hum bucker.
