High Fuel Prices

I know this has been talked about quite a bit recently, but figured a good poll for the front page.

With high fuel prices so high do you:

1. Doesn't Matter, I want to Increase HP.

2. Researching add-ons to increase MPG.

3. Was going to buy a Tundra, not now.

4. Its Hybrid Time.

5. Changed my driving conditions, driving slower.

6. Time for a second job!

My job pays for the gas in the Tundra. (wonder how much longer???) But it's definetly hurting the pocket with the wifes vehicle as she got a long distance to drive.

Reg. just hit $4.56 a gallon... ouch.

The highway I take to work is posted 55 mph - I'm actually sticking pretty much to the speed limit for the first time in 34 years of driving

Hey man although it's not official yet I've seen 91 over $5 here in LA. I just found out I have a $300 a week fuel allowance with my new job.

My truck stays in it's nice warm garage more than it used to. My wife and I carpool most everyday to work which is only 6 miles round trip and we work less than a block away from each other. I still go camping, fishing and ATV'ing when every I can and I use the Tundra for that. With that said.... I get a $500 per/month car allowance for not having a company vehicle AND when I do drive my vehicle for work I get to charge .33 cents per/mile on top of my $500 per/month. Most months I don't even use my own vehicle for business because I fly to my destination and rent a vehicle. SO...I get $6000 per/year to go without a company vehicle. All in all the gas prices aren't cutting into my fun factor just yet but I am still trying to conserve just to be cautious.

Can you add one - like write your congressmen and encourage them to support a real (obvious) solution.

The guy who wrote the article refferred to in this post is a friggin genius - I think he has a real workable solution:

Burning Alcohol

I am being forced to drive my economy car a lot more; an '02 Vette 6-spd that gets 28+ mpg on the highway.
