Which wheel/tire combo with a 3/1?

i can't decide between 295/65/18 or 305/55/20 with a 3/1 level kit. Pictures of both would be great, and what rubbing issues were there. Please include wheel offsets. Thanks!

305 55 R20's would look better. I kinda think 18's look a little small on our trucks.

My setup

I have 295/70-18 Trail Grapplers. I think they look great. I removed both mudflaps on the front before I installed them. They still rub the plastic part in front of the tires but it could be fixed easily. I am just lazy. You can see the pic in my avatar or go look at my new member post.

What is the offset on your wheels. Looks like they just about even with the fender wells.

I would agree with getting +35 offset. The ONLY bit of rub I had was during a hard right turn....in REVERSE. Removed the tiny front mudflaps beneath the front bumper.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I have 20x8.5 Rockstars (+35) on 305/55-20 Terra Grapps...

My offset is +35 and they are close to even with fender wells. I don't get much mud or tireshine fling on the sides of the truck. It really only gets on the truck when the wheels are turned.

I had to take the mudflaps off the front and I still have to move the plastic piece that sits right in front of the wheels. I am just going to push it forward and redrill new holes.

What did you do to compensate for the speedo difference?

speedometer

I haven't done anything about the speedometer difference. I just know that i'm actually going 4mph faster than it says. I think I was off 1 mph before so the wheels tires only really made a 3 mph difference.

Also, earlier I said my wheels were rubbing on the plastic. I just went out and played with the truck. I ended up finding out that it was actually rubbing the skidplate. I just took a pair of heavy duty pliers and curled it out of the way. I thought this was safer than cutting the plate. No more rub.

I like my 305/65r18.

IMO, 33" tires look a little small on 20" wheels. I stuck with the 18s because of cost, but if I ever got 20s I would have to go with 35" tires.

I agree. I now wish I'd gone with 18s and a more aggressive 35 (Trail Grappler). However, it was hard to fathom going 18s after having 3 different sets of 24s in as many years of owning my Titan Crew. Hell, I had a hard time going 20s, but saw that that was the most popular size.
