So I heard you guys like 40s on 17s..

I upgraded from 37s on 18s; progress to come. I have more cutting and hammering to do to make these fit when flexed or tucked offroad..

Most of the action and progress pics will probably end up on my Instagram feed (and stories): SPVRTAN; build information on my truck can be found here on my personal site: buildprint.io.

While I can appreciate what your trying to do.... I do hope you realize that you are going to need to rear gear to 5.29's not 4.88's to have any drive ability not to mention the extreme stress on suspension components particularly the spindles of which are ductile iron and bds spindles are known to bend ... I know I bent both of mine before so your adding stress to the driveline which isn't prepped for 40's and a suspension that already has issues... good luck!

Oh and 5.29 gears are not available yet ... tundra gears are the weak link in the drive line ... and w 4.30's and the 40's you are way way out of spec for the driveline ratio... about 20% off if my quick math is right

dude stop with all that! He'll just ride around in 5th gear most of the time and when he's freeway cruising he'll drop to 6th and get mega MPG.

You just a hater

I am definitely planning on regearing. The two next major mods I'm saving up for before anything else are gears/lockers and a custom rear bumper. Both are highest on my list right now. I know I'm going to break something eventually.. and probably the CV axles and tie rods first (I have 3 spare CV axles, a set of tie rods, 2 wheel bearing assemblies, and a set of BDS spindles in the garage). Yea, I bent one of my spindles already but that was because I hit a giant boulder at speed.

I have a supercharger for now and when I go to 4.88s I should have enough power to move just fine -- obviously won't be bombing the desert at speeds greater than 50mph (at least not safely). I mostly do overlanding and slow technical trails.
