Tire/wheel combination selection
I decided to go with the LTX 275/70R18 and the procomp 18x9 wheels. Will this combination work or shall i look for a narrower wheel?
Help guys |

I went with 275 70 18 Nitto Terra Grapplers which fit fine on stock rims. I asked the tire chain if the ATX Teflon Thug rims would fit and they said "sure". The rims came in and we put one rim on the Tundra and it stuck out about an inch beyond the fender. They were 12mm backspace and the stock rim is 60mm. They returned them which was too bad...they looked nice on a black truck. I did not want crap slung all over the side of the truck and they suggested fender flares. I'm not sure I want the extra width...the truck is big enough.
It is just a matter of time before one of the rim manufacturers come out with rims with the stock backspacing. I had my heart set on those Teflon rims. My milage went down from 20 to 18 with the slightly larger tires. |
