New Tire Warranty

Has anyone had an issue with the BF Goodrich tires that come with the TRD package. I have one that lost a chunk of rubber out of the face. Took it to the nearest 'dealer' of these tires and was told no go on warranty.

I sent them an email today. I went to the local tire rep and he told me that the tires do not come with road hazard from the factory. Kinda sh1tty. He actually came out and looked at the tire and asked if it loses air. I told him no and he says to keep an eye on it.

That's some BULLSHIT! You should document that so if and when you get a blowout that causes an accident you can bring it up. What a lazy douch.

Call em back and say hey it is losing air! Then if they tell you to bring it in pull over somewhere around the corner form the place and stick the tip of an ice pick into the spot where the chunk is missing. I know that doesn't seem right but what they're doing to you doesn't seem right either!

Here is a picture of the missing chunk. Let me know if you think that I am over-reacting.

Not over-reacting one bit! I think you need to let this dude understand that you are concerned with one chunk leading to another, and that it could be the start of tread separation because that's exactly what could happen.

Without starting a pissing match, it likely is a road hazard. I work for Goodyear and get to show people the nail and/or puncture holes in their OE tires that just "blew out" for no reason and they knew for a fact that they did not run over a nail/foreign object. Road hazards are not covered under any type of Mfc's warranty. Typically Goodyear would offer a one time 50% concession and suggest you purchase a Road Hazard plan.

Like I said, all I got was keep an eye on it.

I'm going to see the service manager at the dealership tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens. I did get an email from BFG today and I called them only to get a temp whose taking messages for return calls. They seem to have a busy customer relations department.
