Tires
I have always been a die hard BFG TKO guy, having bought three sets in the past. When I purchase my new TOY I might go with a different all terrain. I see alot of guys on here use the NITTO or TOYO brands. I like the look of those tires but I don't want to hear the constant, loud hum of a tire. I really don't know much about these tire brands either. My BFG's on my current Silverado are a good tire and do hum a bit. Not too bad of a hum but would not want anything louder. Any suggestions on a good all terrian? Pictures would be awesome too although I have seen most on here.

The Nitto's, Toyo's, and BFG Ko's are all good tires. The Nitto is going to be the cheapest out of the bunch. The Nitto's ride a little stiffer out of the three. Have you considered the Firestone Destination AT. It is a very good tire. Great on/off road traction.

I've been happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors (siped)...very quiet, solid sidewall, winter traction is slighty less than siped BFG AT. Next winter I'll have dedicated winter wheels/tires. Unless something better comes along, Il'll replace the SA's with more of the same. Iv'e used the Toyo AT's and would recommend them as well (load range D or E) for 3-season use. Considering your desire for gnarly-looking...why not stick with BFG AT or MT? If winter traction isn't an issue, anything with a premium carcass will be OK.

Im just looking for something different. I had a Cherokee Sport, Ram and now a Silverado with the BFG At's. Saw the Nitto and Toyo's on this site and really liked the look. I just wondered if they are quality. Also curious as to what else could be out there. I had Goodyears on the Cherokee and Ram. Not sure which all terrain they were but I do remember sliding everywhere, all the time in the rain. Not the case with the BFG's. Never used the silent armors though.

I was in the same boat you are when I started looking for tires, I had always used BFG AT's but saw the Nitto/Toyoa AT's and thought about them. In the end I decided to go with what I knew and got the BFG's, I know for a fact I wont be disappointed with them.

The BFG's are sure a god tire. Hard to beat and a proven performer. Im looking at the Yokohama Geolander AT/S. Anyone have or used this tire in the past? The Bridgestone Revo's look like a nice tire and so does the Pirelli AT/R. The Nitto's and Toyos look sharp but I dont know anyone who has these tires. I like the dressed up sidewall that some of the tires have, espically the Nitto's. Everyone's opinion on these or any other all terrain? I posted a link for the Geolanders.

I chose the BFG AT KO LT285-65-18. No rubbing issues. My truck is a stock 4x4 TRD.

I haven't seen decent tires on a new vehicle with 3 exceptions: the Toyo AT on older Tundras, the BFG AT on some FJ Cruisers, and whatever the Hummers run. Everything else is 'passenger-car' junk intended for maximum mpg in the Govt. tests. Toyo/Nitto/BFG/Goodyear/Firestone/Cooper: all make cheap stuff AND premium stuff. Don't rule-out any premium tire because of a negative experience with that brand's oem junk. You get what you pay for.

I agree. Im trying to watch the weight of the tire for the MPG sake. But, looks are what counts the most. Would like to see a set of 285/65/18, maybe Toyo AT's or the Yokohama Geolanders on a Tundra. The MT's do looks sweet but Im looking to keep the noise down.
